Witness for Life

The purpose for this annual event is to demonstrate to our community that St. Joseph’s Catholic Church embraces Catholic pro-life teachings, to try to change the hearts of those who may witness our demonstration that they may reject the Culture of Death, and to set an example to other faith communities in our area that they too may join us in the battle to end abortion.

The property of St. Joseph's sits at one on the busiest intersections in Jacksonville, Loretto and St. Augustine Roads, which provides us with great exposure. During the Witness for Life parishioners peacefully demonstrate on the sidewalk in front of the Cody Enrichment center, our parish hall, with our pro-life signs while praying all twenty mysteries of the Rosary. Inside the Enrichment Center's chapel other parishioners are praying in front of the Blessed Sacrament. The demonstration which held on a Saturday morning in October starts at 9:00am and ends with Benediction at noon. The Knights of Columbus provided us with drinks and hotdogs this year during the event.
